How important might a meeting be for an artist? His sensitive eyes can distinguish the worth of people and of things. Mauro Corbani recovers deserted things, which have been considered useless, and gives them new meanings. Walking along the beach; next to the shore, along forest tracks and around street corners, he notices fragments of different materials, gathers and takes them into his studio. In his hands, endowed with an alchemic power, these objects undergo a transformation. At the right time, Corbani can give a new life to everything. Through his canvases and sculptures one is able to experience the timeless magic of his Art.

In his works, Mauro Corbani expresses his experiences; his personal life and story as if it were a dreamlike journey. We are introduced into this artist's wonderful world which is full of fanciful characters. These characters seem to gaily dance to an imaginery music and tribal rhythm. Instantly this world seems to overwhelm us whenever we engage in a painting or sculpture by Corbani. Vitality, harmony, chromaticity: - the basic elements to understand Corbani's poetics of Art. Light and colour are the natural essence, the core of his works and his way of being. The " joie de vivre" maybe a fair expression to indicate the vibrancy of Corbani's work.
