In the medieval village of Scarlino, L'Atelier and Casa d'Artista is the house and workshop of the artist Mauro Corbani and his wife Laura Masini.
Scarlino is a beautiful Etruscan hilltop village situated in the Maremma region of Tuscany. From this village there are magnificent views overlooking both the islands of Elba and Corsica and of the surrounding countryside. The harboun Etrusca Marina is also located nearby.The house is located in a narrow lane way that takes you up to the castle.
The house was built in the 18th Century and has recently been restored to its original condition. The exterior of the house displays a unique style, where sections of the facade have been decorated by the artist, whilst the interior rooms act as a gallery for Corbani's art. There is a tranquil private garden that also has sculptures by the artist. Everyone can visit the artist's studio, while he is working too.
Smoking and pets are not allowed.
Parking is available nearby. The beach is only 10mins by car.
Walking and mountain bike tracks are also situated around the village and surrounding forest.
Conveniences available in Scarlino are: grocer's, newspapers, bar, restaurant, pharmacy, bank, post office, bus, library, Etruscan museum, police station and ambulance.
